Technologies

There are many technologies out there to develop and maintain applications and web sites. Not all of them are created equal. Below is a list of our core competencies, but as with all good consultants, we will first evaluate your needs and if something else is more suited to your particular projects, we will recommend it.

As with any technology decision, you must not only stay on top of the current technology, but also have an eye towards the future for what makes sense for your organization. These days, a typical site or application has an average life time of only about 5 years. Consider, are you still using the same application or website code you did 5 years ago? Probably not. So we recommend keeping your development nimble and flexible and always have an eye to what you will need to have in place a year or two from now, rather than focusing on the next 3-6 months.

Microsoft .NET Technologies

Contrary to what many people think, .NET is not just a single tool or technology, but rather is a large set of tools, libraries and systems developed by Microsoft to make building applications of any size and type easier and faster to build and maintain. By doing this, Microsoft tries to maintain a “monopoly” on the development community with their servers and software, as well as providing state of the tools for software and web developers.

Microsoft SQL Server

For large organizations that require maintaining and managing large amounts of data, SQL Server may be right for you. The cost of owning and maintaining a SQL server database can be high, so we do not recommend this in all cases. There are other cheaper and even free solutions that might be right for you. We’ve worked with SQL Server for 10 years at Monster.com, and know how it can be used to run a large site and organization. Let us review your database needs and recommend a solution that is right for you.

MySQL

MySQL is often called the poor man’s SQL Server. But did you know that MySQL is the world’s most popular open-source database software with over 100 million copies of its software downloaded or distributed throughout its history. And best of all, its free! We can help in your migration up from a small database, such as Microsoft Access to MySQL, or migrate down from a SQL Server database to a more cost effective MySQL database.

All development is completed either in house, or if needed or preferred, on-site. We never ship your project off-shore.
